Moving across the country to a region that I had never stepped foot in was a pretty big risk. Never having met the people I was going to be working with full-time didn’t lower that risk either. But the thing is, that’s exactly what I knew would be necessary when I first contacted the guys at Caffeine and Kilos.
The 3 day road trip from Hernando, MS to Elk Grove, CA was a vacation in itself and I was fortunate to have my father split the driving load with me. After arriving in Elk Grove, my first week on the job included a coastal trip to Santa Cruz, CA, my first Pacific Ocean visit, and an opportunity to meet many Crossfit elites as we helped host the Open Announcement 16.5 after party. I would say that week could have been a lot worse.
Over the course of the following 2 weeks, I have learned the process by which Caffeine and Kilos functions and been exposed to the amount of hard work it takes to grow a start-up business up to this level. My responsibilities are growing each day and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
The initial news of me moving across the country of course brought up stereotypes about where I was going and where I came from. But what I have learned since arriving in Elk Grove is that no matter where I am, Good People are Good People. I cannot thank Danny, Dean, and Charlie enough for giving me this opportunity and I realize how much God has blessed me more and more each day.
